Amruta On Regional Films Making Global Impact
In an interview actress Amruta Khanvilkar spoke about the growing strength of regional cinema and praised filmmakers for taking meaningful subjects to theatres and reaching global audiences with quality content. She also said it is important to give credit to directors and the entire crew for a film success.
Amruta has had a busy January with two OTT releases, Taskaree and Space Gen: Chandrayaan. Along with films she is also involved in theatre plays and rehearsals. Having worked actively in Marathi cinema, she expressed happiness over its rising global recognition.
She highlighted films like Shwaas and Sairat and also mentioned Gujarati film Laalo, saying box office collections alone do not define a film’s impact.
She added that many films have touched hearts beyond numbers and that all industries are trying to make meaningful films without fail.
She believes filmmakers should be appreciated for their efforts as success and failure are part of the process. She also said she would love to do a Chandramukhi sequel but there is no update yet.
